Greetings everyone.

I joined this forum in hope to get some good information about the Legion, since my plan is to apply.

BACKGROUND.

I come from northern europe. I can't say much good about my life nor my past. Right now I'm in a very bad spot and most of my family/friends have decided to turn their backs against me. I have been working contruction work, mostly demolition work for whole my life. Other than that I haven't done anything of value, just bullsh$tting around doing nothing. I have studied some vain filosophy and stuff at university that doesn't help you in life.

Right now I'm homeless, just drifting around from different friends doing nothing. Just working out and trying to figure out what to do. I do not wish to return to any slave labor at my country. I'm pretty p$ssed off at my sh$tty country since they don't help people that need it even though I have payed taxes.

Well off with the rant. I'm just sick and tired of all the politics at work, at school and in real life. F*ck em all.

I have always knew in my heart that I would apply for the Legion. Seems it one of the only places left where you can truly get a second chance in life.

I havn't done anything criminal, at least I was never caught. No troubles with the Law, just hate the bureaucracy overall.

FACTS:

I'm 28 years old (1992)
I'm around 185 cm, 70-75 kg
I have a good cardio
I cannot do 7 pullups yet, but I'm working on it.
I have applied for my own country military but was not accepted. I have no intresest of trying to apply agian. I spit out the truth about me having doing some drugs and I told them that my upbrining was not a very good one. Despite growing up in a "socialist utopia".

Other than that I am a believer in Jesus Christ.

Oh yeah. I'm thinking of doing my trip to France in around a couple of months. It depends on how fast I can get to 7 pull ups. I do pull ups just pushing up my face and not my chest. I would like to go with 10 before I go, but me being homeless and desperate. I might go earlier. We'll see.

You sound rebellious, which is fine, but the legion has a way of discouraging rebelliousness, usually by cleaning things, like toilets and other stuff, until you get the message. On the other hand, the legion could be just your right kind of place to find a new home, hwo knows. Give it a try and see what happens, but Don’t expect any cheerful welcoms.

Yeah I agree. I have a lot of anomisonity towards people giving orders in general, just because they have been proven to be cockroaches. Now if some person whom I respect giving me a order I have no problem going for it. It's just a lot of backstabbing have happened to me so that's why I sounds rebellious.

I need to tone that down of course, but yeah. They have no need of me at all so I need to be submissive of course. I need them, they do not need me.

I do not know what I will do if I do not get accepted, so yeah I'm going to be as fit as I can be. Also focus on the goal mentally to be a legionare.

Thanks. I'll make sure I make it. I will most likely update my thread when I'm leaving for Paris. I might not if I fail, since I will be embarassed of course. I'm not going to Paris to be rejected.. that's for sure.

Hey friend, how are you doing? I have not been on the forum for long but i'd like to welcome you anyways. Looks like you've been through a rough phase and if you're serious about not having anything to go back to, i've been told the Legion likes to take your kind in - less chance of desertion, i suppose. @Joseph Cosgrove, a moderator here and legionnaire, told me on my introduction that construction working was a good way for me to shape up and would show the recruiters i had experience in that area, so if you've been doing it for a long time like you said it is no doubt a bonus.

You can try more than once; As long as you don't get a definitive rejection, you can try up to 3 times. If you're not accepted they will inform you when to return (3 months, 6 months, 1 year) and usually tell you why you were rejected.

I recommend that you go directly to Aubagne; may be more expensive, but in Paris & other recruitment centers there is a pre-selection and they will then send you to Aubagne; all of that will take at least a week, as i've been told, and in Aubagne is even more waiting, so better to just go there directly.

Yes you get muscles, but most of all you just get tough. Doing unpleasent work for a very low pay. Depends on what kind of contruction you're doing but it mostly tough work. I don't mind the work, I just can't bare snakes. There is a lot of them in contruction just like the rest of society. No honor. Just dog eat dog mentality.

What kind of person can thrive on that other than a snake? Well it's not for me.

I can guess that you are an immigrant, correct? You're mentioning of snakes etc, does this mean that you don't feel as though you fit in? I'm not a psy or anything but I will tell you if you have got some kind of chip on your shoulder because of your race or your color or religion, then don't bother joining the legion.

What exactly you working? Are you have monthly pay? Are you have social , medical etc. securities. What is your working hour? And of course, what money is involved?

And from where did you migrated? Are you born in Sweden?

No I was born in Sweden. Nah, I don't have a problem with fitting in. I'm just surprised that such a cunning and backstabbing behavior can be so common by adults. Especially grown men who work psychical. A few rotten eggs destroys the whole thing. So yeah. I have worked with a lot of different nationality and religions. I have no problems with them. Same goes with politics. I have worked with communists, liberals and nationalists. I don't care. I would often tell them as things progress that I am a christian as they tell me about their selves. I have never had troubles because of that. The troubles have come with people being sneaky and trying to climb the ladder by sucking up to the boss. Or that the boss have lied about payment ect. Not so uncommon in this business.

Yes I was born in Sweden. I have done simple demolition, some brick laying ect.. I am currently umemployed right now.

Well I appericate all the answers. I probably update how my training and such goes. I'm not that worried about cardio, it's more of the pull ups. Seems like people are claiming different about how they test you in that course. I probably will go to Paris even though some recommend otherwise. If I fail then I'm locked in Paris since I have been telling you all before.. No money and no french skills at all.

EDIT: Of course. I'm 27 instead of 28 if that makes a difference..
