The knee scar

Not sure I can get a doctors note tbh. Homeless without health insurance.

You have to be seen in any emergency room, go and get it looked at that way you will have a record showing all clear.

What is 5th SFG??

I was pretty much fluent when I went and I spent 36 days in France before I stepped foot in Aubagne and I bet I only spoke English 3 or 4 times (one memorable night in Nantes with an American IES Abroad Student sticks out most...…).

The real immersion of those days was worth a year of study.

Kind of odd to be from the 5th Special Forces Group as an E-4 Specialists

He was Support. Even the SF groups have their cooks, clerks, and mechanics. Those guys will all be Airborne qualified, but will not have gone through SFAS/Q-Course.

The way to spot them ( SF Support guys) in uniform is 1) They wear a Maroon beret, though with an SF Flash and DUI (Cap badge), and they wear the SF unit patch, but without a special forces tab. Here's an example: sfsup.jpg
Pictured is the Chaplain (Aumônier) and Chaplain's assistant for 3rd Bn, 10th SFG. Both wear maroon berets instead of green, though they both have the Green flash of 10th SFG. The SGT at left is wearing the aformentioned SF DUI (Distinctive Unit Insignia); at right, you see the Padre (note the cross on his beret) wearing a SF unit patch without a SF tab. These guys are SF support Bubbas; assigned to 10th group, but not actual Snake-eaters themselves.
