I guess I'm little bit lost in translation. Here is quite common to call someone Stari and not sound derogatory.
That is exactly what I was trying to point out to you Dusa.
Anyway, got my passport for 10 years, the first time in 15 years that they agreed to give me a ten year one !
I got the minivan this morning at 6 and got there only 5 minutes late for my 10:30 appointment. then I had to come back.
No time for a massage. I wouldn't want one anyway. It is not just because a girl is born in Thailand that she possesses some kind of secret massage powers which only Thais can possess like some kind of shaman medicine man.
Done wrong they can do more damage than good. Try complaining to the authorities afterwards.

bureaucracy is a bithc.
My drivers licence expires in 2044. Everybody gets those valid for 10 years, I'm not going near the police station until 2043, at least.

In the Netherlands it is common for adult sons' to call their father "my old man" . For myself, I don't care one way or the other because I am an old man.:D
Also in the UK it is common to refer to your mother as 'me old dutch'.
However calling someone else an old man...?
Anyway Chas is happy with it, which is all that matters.

I played some basketball the other week with my son and his friends.. did i feel like 20..nope ! do i care ...no. Be what you can be as you age. Quality of life is important. To quote Victor Hugo ....
forty is the old age of youth
Fifty is the youth of old age.

this no longer seems to be true as more older dudes are active now.

Just glancing through the forum. Last few months rather hectic with my wife in and out of hospital. Seeing the specialist tomorrow at the Royal Surrey Hospital. No sympathy required from anyone. So please don't bother.

Good post by Joe C. re : DCLXVI. I for one never understood why he always slated the FFL.
Welcome back Charles.

In the French military and the Legion in particular, there is an 'expression' - for want of a better word - mauvais esprit which translates word for word, bad spirit = bad attitude. The fact that he has signed on again I would think that it had more to do with his goal of getting his French nationality, than actually being proud to serve the Legion.
He did not have one good word of encouragement to those who were going to serve. If anyone is interested, look up his name, then click on his logo, underneath you will see 'messages'. Not really worth the read, but in case you are interested.
Matured? He joined at 30 odd years old.
As for him passing Cch, there is no course per se. When he has three years of rank as a Cch, he can be considered to go on his ( the name escapes me for the moment) which is a concours or contest. When I went on mine, we were 181 (of which 24 were from the REP) for only 80 places. We were 11 to have passed from the REP. It means that once you have 15 years service you can wear a kepi noir.
With DCXLVI being in a more relaxed regiment and in a support company, his rank of Cch will not stand for much. It will mean less corvées is all. Because yes, in the support company, as a caporal he will be doing corvées the same as a legionnaire 2nd classe in a combat company.
For those of you who join and see the greener grass in the support company: knocking off at regular hours, doing lots less service such as guard duties, going out on field exercise 'perhaps' twice a year. Most weekends off. It's worth noting that once you are in there, than you can practically say good bye to any OPEXs. DCXLVI's highlights are now wandering around the streets of some city in France.
I was wondering about the Black Kepi and when it could be worn, CCh or Sgt.

He was a "special child" on this forum, sure he still is. Like Joe pointed out, browse for his posts for full diagnose.
Suprised that Legion wants him for more / gives the option (if that's the truth).

If anyone is in contact with him; please tell him to go f..k himself .
Thank you.

Maybe you should go to Aubagne, knock on the gate and ask to join. You are an idiot and have zero imagination for what it takes and to fulfill an enlistment oath, what's keeping you back, show me, prove me wrong.

This would be amusing play for little bit of change. To be fair Crysis (one of best games ever) was albot killing Koreans.

Interesting North Korean representation of American soldier with huge nose. To be honest if comparing Koreans the Yankees have big noses. Also it's dress up in something like Korean war era uniform.
I guess they wound some old Korean war veteran and ask them to make sketch of American. (He would say in Korean) "OK young man, it was a long time ago, but this is how I remember American soldiers." :D
Do he have vampire teeth also? :)

I call complete bullshit on you here, you are an Anti-Semite, plain and simple and to not recognize this cartoon for what it is other than a North Korean's impression of America you are fooling yourself.

His age, for one... but easy up. He still has some positive input, for a tourist

Sergent and above, IS de facto. Cch are split in 2 categories : depends on qualifications and "note de gueule".

Guys... DCLXVI is history. Why reopen this can of worms ? Maybe, as Dusaboss said, he’s different in real life, but on the board he was behaving just like a d*ckhead. Not sure why exactly. Surprised to see that he’s considering signing up for one more year, after all the derogatory comments he made about the Legion, as pointed out by Joseph. Wishing him good luck anyway.
We all grow and all of the veterans on this site can appreciate that when you first enlist all of the bullshine you have to just take in. But, as you gain rank and seniority things change. Do you guys know the Enlisted Term for the Marine Corps is? The SUCK. A few things will happen here, 1) YOU TOTALLY embrace the SUCK, 2) do something stupid to earn yourself a BAD CONDUCT (OR WORSE) DISCHARGE (which will haunt you for life), or lastly 3) you accept it for what it is and what military discipline is and the mundane tasks, no matter how bullshine you think it is, realize the purpose for it.
Hate to say it, but this is how it is, plain and simple, it is that simple.

Sergent and above, IS de facto. Cch are split in 2 categories : depends on qualifications and "note de gueule".
Huh, they are not separate ranks?

Aye and Nay
A caporal-chef de première classe wears a képi noir. The others are caporals who have been around a certain long time and not too much time in jail.

Post Shitum: Was court martialed and busted twice but hold medals and trivial (lettres de félicitations, etc.), that no one on the board Ancien or current legionnaire holds... Could prouve all this, but what's the point ? I know what I have done and where and when i have been. Am sure there IS better than me... I hope so, but do i care ?
Niet, Camaradski!

There is always a raging debate as to what "Support" brings to the battle field. I'd venture to say more than most will ever know. Is it not the Genies that lead all of the parades? It's in the Genies (Engineer Battalions) where you find Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Finding IED and playing with them is no joke. Take this pic for example, 2003 Iraq, objective, get to a predetermined area and establish a Combat FOB. Note, not a tank or Infantry soldier to be found. Our objective establish LSA Viper. One can still google what LSA Viper was. Then leap frog ahead again to the next objective. I am second from the right, those were my Marines. At LSA Viper, day one to establish it after EOD sweeps for mines etc.

He used the same tone and vocabulary, hence my message to him (to you too, while at it). My post had nothing to do with LLE or anyone's service, so chill... Or don't, I don't give a xxxx.

Said by who :) ? I didn't say anything against the Jews (maybe against Zionists and Jewish media, but that is a minority and it certainly doesn't apply to everyone person of that religion).
I have issues with some aspects of Islam that doesn't mean that I hate every Muslim on the planet. Totally nothing against blacks. I have something against what some white Americans do in order to correct mistakes from the past. Naming a carrier Doris Miller won't change the fact that he was working in the kitchen just because of his skin color. Also that medal wasn't given easily to him at the time. I'm not against that naming I'm just not buying the story. How much that would help an average black person in the US? Same as black president and ban of N word. Nothing.
Maybe if racist cops weren't killing unarmed black kids on the streets and managing to get away with it! Or put them in jail for a little bit of weed (which is BTW legalized in half of country). Things like that would make difference. This woke crap ,nah.

and to not recognize this cartoon for what it is other than a North Korean's impression of America you are fooling yourself.
It's video game, not a cartoon. And I don't know why I have to explain that I was making fun of stupid Korean anti-American campaign.
