3e Cie (short for troisième compagnie) would be I guess 3rd Coy (third company) in English.

It's a good thing that the A400M “Atlas” was finally certified for paratroopers drops. It has to be retrofitted as the original versions were having some problems. They say in the Corse Matin article that the plane will remain one full week in Calvi. Hopefully an opportunity for all the légionnaires parachutistes currently present at the base to do a jump from this most recent airplane.

Probally why it's the amphibous company doing the trials. ..
Most of the operational trials have been done
Still remains the 3 doors simulation (left / right and rear at the same time (door flaps open = drag)

In the US Military it would be a Company. A Company is comprised of three full squads of 13, a Headquarters Element, a Weapons Detachment, and several other types of detachments as needed (This would be a Reinforced Company for Deployment purposes) somewhere around 130 Marines Strong.

The Atlas looks like a cross between a C-130 and a C-17. A Fresh version of the C-130.

Wings are on top of the fuselage = more distance from the ground and the rotors = gravel sand landings are possible
Was tested for during Barkhane

She is a big bird, and very capable. Teething problems solved I reckon a lot of NATO countries will start buying them up, c17 is too big and expensive, C130 is limited with modern MRAPs and the like. A400 is the best of both worlds.
