Hmm setting man's house on fire because he refused to make them a diner...while being armed and dress in official army uniform, after robbing a train ... pretty much fits definition you quoted. .
I guess they were throwing around the southern accent all over. Probably drunk after successful action, not caring much to bland in. What happened with grandpa after that?
Was that cavalry hat on you part of contingent grandpa robbed that day?

He was captured, spent the rest of the war at various POW camps, and was finally released 3 months after the war ended. I'm not entirely sure why.
