14 h 45'' ...small super market, petit Casino opens at 15 h...so i got myself a take away café and a croissant from the bakers, while waiting and went on the Alley central of the avenue...a mate turns up with à café and sits on the next bench to me.
Within five minutes a Kangoo van pulls up, it's the Municipal. Not the Police municipal but the ASVPs. With the ticket book for the fines in hand. Told us to piss off. Next time they will not be so clement

Instead of chasing zombies while well armed, I'm staying home and wash my hands frequently.:cautious:

Don't want to sound morbid, I kind of like the atmosphere - everybody taking their foot of the gas and slowing down. People should do that more often.
Finally hygiene gets the attention. And they said Tesla was crazy when he would shake hands only in glows.
I guess in a week, situation will be like in France - "patrols with ticket books".

Aaaand,
2reg is blocked for 15 days. No QL, no sport outside the regiment and inside all the gyms are closed. And all activities suspended.
Only ones who can go out with special permission are the ones that have kids.
This are going to be loooong 2 weeks...

Nope. Because even if you get to the entrance, you'll just get sent away.
Absolutely. Very bad advice from our friend Zeroni. Even if you're from Europe and even from within the Schengen area, don't try. The last thing the Legion want is to have to manage a bunch of people from all over the world, leaving in close quarters, be it in Fort de Nogent or Aubagne, with all the associated potential risks of contamination if one has Covid-19. So, even if you manage to reach the Legion gates, you'll be turned down. And then, what? Either you can manage to get back home or... you'll be living on the streets in France, unless you have brought enough money to stay in an hotel for at least 2 weeks. And that's a minimum, since the initial confinement period could be extended. Be wise... Stay home for the time being.

This is definitely going to push back my trip a little bit. Because even once the all clear is given, I think it's still prudent to wait a bit. I don't mean necessarily do that for everything, a nice little Parisian vacay sure. But for something as immense as attempting to join la Légion, where the only way out might be seeing it through for the next 5 years, literally from that point onward, I think it would be wise to give it another 2-3 months just to let things get back to normal around the globe.

Then you can apply for that Speshall Forsses CRAP unit.

Told you guys.:). It's not hard to predict what's gonna happen in future. Have in mind that we are just in beginning of this pandemic and that rise of infected cases expected after 2 months.

We all see measures all over the world. Some of them are absolutely good and necessary (if you want to save certain number of older population), some should be done month or two ago and others are stupid and even counterproductive.

The government is considering using the OP Sentinelle to intensifie the controls of the confinement measures imposed on the population

If they do so, it will probably be in a mixed role, soldiers, gendarmes and police, as the army has no legal right to give someone a contravention (fine).

Just in case this idea should spread, be warned:

South Africans warned over coronavirus money scam

South Africans have been told not to hand over money to people who say there are collecting bank notes contaminated by the coronavirus.
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) issued a public warning that those posing as government officials were fraudsters.
Those involved in the scam have been issuing fake receipts for the money collected, saying banks will compensate them.
"The SARB will never ask members of the public to hand over their cash," the bank said.
In a Twitter thread, it said no banknotes or coins had been withdrawn and no instruction issued to hand in money that might be contaminated.

The fine for not respecting the confinement measures goes from 38€ to 135€ with immediate effect. No more tolerance will be applied. I am going to have to write out my travel authorization by hand... Date, hour, destination, motive, and identity, with my adresse. One cannot use the same form over and over. One per trip outside your home is necessary.

I had job plans for this season, it went out the window.
Massive notices/sackings in tourism resulting in q lines at the unemployment bureaus. They are allowed to enter the building one by one at the time (everybody masked of course).
First ticket was written - to the person that was suppose to be in self isolation =8000 Kn (1050 euros).
First case of death (here) - waiting for confirmation it was COVID-19. The person was in self isolation, without the symptoms.
(if person traveled in the last 14 days - or was in contact with somebody infected = self isolation!)

Can we expect every year/season something like this virus - is the "future" here already? Hope not.
(Nice lady in my neighborhood shop looks a bit sick. Hope she is just tired - I wonder will she be there tomorrow?)

Croatia: 89 infected, 5 cured. Increase expected in the next 2 weeks.
As of 00:00h (midnight), only pharmacies, bakeries, gas pumps, stores with food and hygiene products are allowed to open. If you prepare and deliver food - you can work, but all the bars, restaurants and such are closed (with applied social measures; masks, distance, etc.)
Temporarily, borders are closed for all but domestic citizens returning home (both ways). My hunch is, restrictions will grow in the next few days.
Went for a walk with a mate. We were declared as idiots by mutual acquaintances for not joining them at the bar we were passing by. They are making the best they can before everything closes, they said.
I believe after first deaths are reported (still no confirmation about the first case) the level of responsibility will be higher.
