on a serious note i like Nike shoes for running. I used to use Asics but i seem to wear out the heel area very quickly as in the material around my heel not the sole (my running style is not perfect). Apart from that asics are great. just after you said "just do it":) also i like to have a looser fit now.. tight is not so good :D

Asics have a plastic support in the material in the Heel area. You are correct though i am more muscular than a long distance runner. :)
