dunno his chances but tell him to sack the Army, join the Marines. Here is their overseas applicants number 0044 441604 640015
i loved the Army, but opportunies are much better with the Commandos

Unless he's from a Commonwealth country, he's chances are slim. At least that's what I was told

Agreed with libertypo, even then its still pretty difficult to get in. You will be waiting months for any news on your application. My cousin, from SA, went and he waited 4 or 5 months before the recruiters got back to him, still currently serving though.

Got a message back from this lad.
Turns out he's not a French National, he's Gambian.
He said Gambias part of the commonwealth.
Libertypo,
you think this would make a difference ?

Commonwealth should be acceptable- but there have been recent restrictions.

No, he will still need a valid visa to enter and stay in the UK. As part of the commonwealth he has a better chance yes, but its still a bet he has to take. Also, he should brace himself for a long wait, and his visa should reflect that as well.
