I don't have it. I left it in the Polish mans office.

That's very unfortunate and i were more interested in your first attempt, on what you were notified about.

Glasses ( corrctive eyewear) are ok to bring and shall be brought with you, forget about contact lenses. Eye surgery, if i remember right, has to be done 12 to 18 months, ahead any attempt to join.

He had different problems with one of his eyes, it wasn't because he had to wear glasses or had contacts or was near sighted. He had a "lazy eye" and I guess the doctor gave him inapt definitive. Sucks.

So he deltonist or somting bad i can still go then whit my -1.5 -1.5 or do i must too firde my eys whit lazers?

Stari ( In the Legion, all former Yugoslavs, were and are called Stari.), i am no eye specialist, but if you can't see much without your eye wear, you aren't really in the pages of great material, for any combat unit, but you could pass and do good as bad, i know first hand how bad it can be losing eye sight with age ( fookin pain in the ass, it is) and have to wear correction glasses. So, as all of us before internet, you can only find out, by going and find out the hard way.

-1,5 aint that bad. I got a little worse eyes, and can still see fine without glasses, mostly only need it for reading the projector screen in class. Anyway, I don't know if he was being sarcastic, but in an old topic Flash mentions that he has shitty eyes too, and he's in the REP, so you should be fine.

Why did you leave it, abandon it ? It is an important document !

Defeat at that moment (2013) hit very hard, I just thought what the heck I'm gonna do with it.

So, from the stupid head suffers hole body. In my case wallet too, cause I went twice. Mistake is done, nothing gonna chance it. I'm the one who left it, and now I really understand how important document it is.

I could frame it in the wall and watch every f******** day that at least I tried.

Is there surgery to fix your eye? I mean you could write a letter and include medical documents...it's like a 1% chance but a letter costs almost nothing. ;) One member here wrote a letter and got to go back and I have heard of at least a couple more...but 'friends of friends' type of situations, so can't verify.

Don, are you thinking it's possible they gave him an inapte temporaire the first time, but that the soldier at the gate just brushed him off, for whatever reason (too many candidates, too busy, etc)?

He says he left the paper, but if he had been given an inapte definitif, I feel that he probably would have gotten the impression from them could not come back.

This is news to me, was he given an inapt definitif and is there a thread on here about that?
I was under the impression that the letters went directly to a post box with a built-in paper shredder on the bottom.

But if someone actually got a response, that's great and you should write a few letters Renard. Hope for the best, expect the worst, but all it costs is the stamp.

What i am thinking doesn't matter. The Legion don't have to justify, why or why not. But you get notified, the reason and if you can, or, not try again, it's on the discharge paper.

Bloody hell do some of you need a piece of chalk and a blackboard.
The equation's are very simple : Inapte Temp. Not quite good enough , go away sort out what's wrong and try again (slim chance)

Inapte Definite Your not good enough for whatever reason and we don't have to tell you.
Simple maths really

There should be a bunch of threads. Try searching for writing letters to the legion or Legion's address. I wrote 3...a few other guys wrote a bunch of letters as well. and the fellow who liked my previous post got to go back. ;)

The Legion, has that particularity that the first contract is 5 years, after that, you can re-enlist 3 years or less, only some idiot in some office thought it was the thing to do and an order is an order. What the US have, is what the US have. Because, no one is forcing anyone to join the Legion, you get in (if you get in), you serve (better be in a favourable way). Want to leave after 5 years, or to serve more? The ball is in your camp. Simple, No B.S about college and such. :)
If you do your five and want to stay on there should be no problem as long as you're not a Banane merchant. But if you want to leave after your five, it certainly looks good on your CV. Let's say you are 20 years old, at 25 you will probably have visited a couple of exotic/weird countries. Maybe have been to a war torn region, come under fire. Perhaps jumped out of a plane, HGV driving license, French spoken, read and writen etc; at 25 that's already a good CV.
