From my week in Aubagne, most recruits atleast finished high school. Very few went to college/university.Recruits of today are far better educated than in my day and considerably more intelligent.
Nobody was illiterate it seems.
Several recruits have some trade skill like carpentry, gypsum, painting. Lot of them worked in construction/blue collar work.
They're more intelligent, yes. But only a handful of us had specialist trade skills like vehicle mechanics, welding.
Was a dude who had a degree in history and another guy with a degree in nutrition and diet.
