The officers who were once Képi Blanc were always top blokes! That's one hell of a service record!
RIP.

A real legend.

Although I was never in CEA he was known and respected by all who served in the REP at the time.

RIP Mon Colonel.

Feck I only saw this now, he was immortal for me :( "Mein Gott". I remember around 1997 when he beat up two French guys from north Africa who tried to steal his money at a cash machine :( Also when he would tell légionnaires in Guyane the girls see dollar signs in your eyes like Disney :( FECK FECK FECK

About a month or two before he passed, we crossed paths. Inter marché, Courbesac, Nîmes. (over the road where the armée d air used to be. ..they are gone now and the barracks hold the biggest police académie in France
I was doing my shopping and we came face to face
We scrutenised each other
Time to recognise, time to remember
No words
No acknowledgments
We moved on

Similar situation with, and some might know. ..Adj. Tenno (sp) alias Thevenard, SML CEA, décédée 2007,july or august
he was wearing a drip and in terminal phase of a cancer
I too was wearing a drip
CHU Caremeau Nîmes
He was standing at the réception
Easy to recognise, homme de base 1m 90
He noticed me too
No words No acknowledgment
Just memories

Tex Yates 2 cie 2 Rei 5 RE
Was 91 or 92, cant recall for sure
Summer time, certain
I had been at the Queens beer, left at closing time
Heading back to quartier
Crossed the Victor Hugo, next to the Arènes
We met, he is "slightly drunk" and am not far off
We chin wagged some (said he was living in Lorraine some where)
He can not remember where his hôtel was and neither the name
He described it a bit. ..i thought it might be the Amphithéâtre. .and it was
Escorted him to the hôtel door ( 02 h 00 or there abouts )
Always liked Tex
