One of the Legions fav pastimes is wandering around the most hideous of terrain with rucksacks glued to your back full of dirty washing and bullets. They call it marching, legionnaires choose to ignore it's even happening by not actually giving it a name... ladies its hell. At Castel they start with (well in my company, 2eme, they did) a march to La Jasse from Danjou. How far is that again? Whatever, if you are fresh off mommie's tit it's a long way to be a carrying ya own nappies let alone a rucksack full of green shit and a shoota!

And it only gets worse. This army does not have a "buy one get one free" deal going with Land Rover, in fact in the REP wagons are like Unicorn cum... (unless in Africa... Beau smiles... fond memories of booze laden Dodges...hic!). In Castel the marches get worse each time you do one. Distance, speed and weight are all increased fast. Groups appear on the march, if you wanna impress... be in the first group, those in the middle will get through, those at the back will suffer, ladies the Legion will teach you to grit yer teeth and pull like a huskie! Or it will send you insane and those who have been through it know I ain't full of shite....! Do not underestimate the ferocity of these marches, the reason the Legion insists on a good Cooper will become clear when your sweet lil butts arrive in Castel.

Marching is never easy in the REP it's always hell, always. There are only a few ways to deal with it and that is quite simply to just go with it, don't fight it in your head, head down and grit your teeth till you turtle head your trollies...! If you do not just switch off and "souffre en silence" you WILL go insane...!

Train for much much more than a Cooper ladies! Try much much harder than 2800m.
