a man of immense talent. He also served in the British army for 22yrs. in various units ending up in the famous gloster regt. as a regimental Sargent/major. He and his regt. were among some of the first British army units to be sent into Northern Ireland 1969/70. Unofficially he was there also in 71/72. Doing sketches/drawings. Some of that has yet to be released. I doubt that it will be. He will be sorely missed by family friends and old army mates.For decades I have been enjoying the illustrations of the French Foreign legion by Mike Chappell, and Mike Chappell might be gone, but his work will last until the end of time
