I can imagine, alot of knowledge there. We are trying to get hold of his brother he will be able to confirm alot, I'm not sure how long it's going to take, he likes to be left alone, he also served at the same time but the went down different paths and only reconnected after service. If I get anymore info I will definitely let you know

All I have found since connecting to that insignia is the 6th marine infantry para regiment. Also I don't trust much on the internet. So will wait for some answers from the family.

Well I've only gotten small bits and pieces from word of mouth from my family over the years. For many years I thought to leave it, if he wanted to tell me more than it's his choice, since he died and told me to get my shit together and go for it I'm right for it I've taken a deeper interest into his past, we never got a chance towards the end to talk in depth about it. lots of family issues so it's mostly been searching through the internet.

The ACC guys were ok. Good scoff. Liked to drink too, one was always in Angies bar seeing the Girls. Must have spent a Fortune in there...LOL
So they decided to do away with the Army Catering Corps.
Now they are regretting the destruction of the 'candy stick towers :

We had sodexo providing food for us in 5 RE. Sh$te !

Bring back the Army Catering Corps i say.. Good scran. Always got a good Standard of food in any cook house. Our cook house was spotless the WO was strict with his Chefs. I mean you got to know the Chefs too.
