You would be very surprised just how differently they actually are, one guts the US Military and pushes a socialist Woke Agenda, the other has to deal with the years of neglect raiding the budget.

Obesity is a huge problem for recruiters, recruits have to make the height and weight standards, different for each armed service, Marine Corps is the strictest. On Activity Duty you have to make the real standard not the recruit standard, the recruits cut weight fast and for the mpst part keep it off. You have one freebe, get put on weight control for 6 months, don't make and maintain the weight, it's a discharge.

There is a weight standard for recruits, it is slightly more than the official weight requirements. In boot camp they are placed on weight control, the same applies to undeweight recruits. One cuts the fat one adds it

an example, I am 5'-10" Max weight is 192 pounds. For a recruit, the max weight was 215, 23 pounds over the weight standard. There is also a minimum weight, can't reall it but it is treated the same, they would make one a "Diet Private and the other a Double Rations Private."

Other Branches are different with regard to height and weight standards. You can be over the maximum but at or under the Body Fat percentage, 18% in the Marines, the Army it is 24% which is horrible. One can alos be within the height and weight standards but look horrible in uniform so they get snagged for "Military Apperance." I have seen some pictures of all milataries and I can tell you a lot of them would have been caught up in Military Apperance, Legion included.

The youth today are sedintary as compared to my era, all the computers and gaming shite
